Amy Goyer’s father was a World War II veteran who developed Alzheimer’s late in life. As his primary caregivers, Amy and her sisters found that while their father’s memory was poor, he always brightened when talking about his war service.

Concentrating on his life during the war helped to focus his mind and bring him a sense of normality.

To help with this, Amy put together a beautiful video to honor her father. In it, Amy shows us how she used his service history to deepen her connection with her father, as well as discussing how she took care of him in his final years.

Equally heartbreaking and uplifting, this story is something that should be shared with everyone.
