Nothing is more ominous and thrilling than a big storm rollin’ in over the horizon.
This video by National Geographic photographer Nicolaus Wegner was shot in isolated Wyoming in the summer of 2013. His spectacular footage captures the formation of severe thunderstorms over the Great Plains over the course on an evening.
Wegner is not a storm chaser nor a meteorologist; he is an extremely dedicated and talented photographer that will go to any length to get the perfect shots. In doing just this one photo project, Wegner claims to have almost been struck by lightning twice! Now that takes some guts.
The raw power of storm clouds is incredible to behold. To capture these incredible images, he braved lightning and the erratic fury of supercell storms so you could enjoy their magnificent movements.
Check out the video below and Prepare yourself for the raw power of thunderstorms.
