The National Plan To Address Alzheimer’s
By Allison Espiritu
It may not feel like it but our government is making headway in the fight against Alzheimer’s. Today over 5 million individuals are living with Alzheimer’s disease and by 2050 this number will grow up to 16 million Americans. But the U.S. is making a stand to slow this rate down with the National Plan to Address Alzheimer’s Disease.
Fortunately Congress and President Obama have passed and signed into law the National Alzheimer’s Project Act (NAPA), which will create the national plan. This plan will provide needed care, treatment, and information at the early stages of a patient’s diagnosis, guaranteeing a better way of life. We won’t let this debilitating disease take over!
