This is the impact you helped make in a single day. Our other Gifts That Give More gather donations throughout the year and drive critical support to where it’s needed most, but nothing compares to the massive spirit of generosity we see on GivingTuesday.

Here’s how things broke down for our campaigns:

Pet Food Drive: 4.5 Million Meals for Pets

The coronavirus pandemic has stretched many shelter and rescue budgets to the breaking point, wildfires and hurricanes have increased the need for food, and as the temperature drops this holiday season, overcrowded shelters incur extra expenses. The need for food is dire, and you stepped up on GivingTuesday to meet that need.

You helped dish up over 4.5 million meals for pets, and it gets better! In addition to this incredible accomplishment, our friends at Chewy surprised us by donating an additional $2 million worth of nutritious food for pets on GivingTuesday.

Support for Veterans: 1,898 Packs Delivered

The holidays can be especially difficult for veterans, especially those suffering from PTSD. These heroes should not have to feel alone and without support at a time when most people are celebrating with loved ones.

You helped us provide 1898 packs to veterans facing housing instability. These packs contain necessities like:

• A hygiene kit including shampoo, soap, and toothbrush.
• A reusable water bottle.
• A t-shirt and socks to provide a clean change of clothing.
• A blanket for warmth and comfort.

And for pets:
• A cinched pack to hold all the pet’s essentials.
• A collapsible bowl to provide a clean place for the pet to eat or drink.
• A slip lead leash to ensure the pet remains safe with their veteran owner.
• A treat and a toy that provides the dog with comfort and happiness. This gift also helps to create an even stronger bond between the veteran and their pet.

Food Drive for People: 1,120 Meals Provided

This holiday season, with food at the center of family gatherings and celebrations, more than 41 million Americans don’t know where they will find their next meal. As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, our neighbors and loved ones face new challenges when it comes to accessing even the most basic necessity: food.

Acre Drive: 955 Acres Protected

This year, the World Wildlife Fund released a sobering report: birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and fish have suffered a 68% decline in just the last 50 years.

Actions that drove this decline, including increased destruction of habitat and the illegal wildlife trade, are also linked to the outbreak of the coronavirus and other diseases. We are running out of time to stop the destruction of our global ecosystems, your support is helping turn the tide.
