Alzheimer’s patients often appear withdrawn and depressed, and these symptoms are often attributed to their memory problems. A new University of Florida study found that Alzheimer’s patients may also have a decreased ability to experience emotions. This emotional flatness could be wrongly assumed as a sign of depression, and wrongly treated.
