70-Year-Old Grandma Cried Tears of Joy Over Big Birthday Surprise at Disneyland
How do you say thank you to someone who has devoted her life to loving you, in your sleep, in your every waking moment, from the time you learned to tie your shoelaces to the time you were old enough to tie the knot with someone else?
One devoted grandmother is getting the appreciation she deserves after spending years and years loving her children and grandchildren.
A grandmother takes care of the little members of your family with as much devotion as she cared for her own children, even though she can feel her physical strength diminishing over the years, her vision slowly dimming and other parts of her body succumbing to the effects of aging. And yet, her heart is always there for you and the people you care about.
Has she had time to fulfill her own dreams? Did your mom and grandma nurture other dreams at all? Were you and your dad the only people she needed to be happy? To be fulfilled?
When was the last time you looked at your mom and saw her as a human being? With feelings and aspirations of her own? And now that she is a grandmother, is she still the same iconic figure you used to look up to when you were a kid…or just a shadow that is already fading away from your sight?
Being a woman is hard to define. A woman fulfills so many roles in life that she often loses herself to all of them.
But the most crucial decision a woman can take is choosing to be a mother. Just as the words of Elizabeth Stone so aptly describe, “Making a decision to have a child—it’s momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.”
This 70-year-old grandmother, as she cried tears of joy, must have felt that her heart has nothing to regret in giving all the love that she could.
As she stood for a photograph at Disneyland with her husband, her family surrounded her to surprise her. It took her several seconds to realize who was photobombing her picture.
Indeed, what can be a sweeter gift than having all your grandchildren pay back your love with a pure love of their own?
