Hearing the news of a loved one’s pregnancy is one of the most perfectly joyful moments in life. The excitement and pure love is simply electric, and the rush of happy emotions is overwhelming — in the best way!
For Christine Stone and her mother, Setsuko Harmon, this sweet and special moment is lived over and over. Setsuko has Alzheimer’s, and this leads her to often forget the news of her daughter’s impending motherhood.
But when she is reminded, she experiences the joy all over again.
Christine recorded this video to show her baby daughter how excited Setsuko was for her arrival, and how much she is loved. She says, “It is sad yet heartwarming to see my mom’s reaction every time. I cannot wait for her to meet our daughter when she arrives in October, obviously.”
Christine hopes that this video offers comfort and hope to others facing Alzheimer’s, and that it can raise awareness of the issues those fighting against the disease are up against. She especially hopes that others will donate to Alzheimer’s organizations and participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
Watch Setsuko learn the good news of her daughter’s pregnancy in the video below!
