In this video, Ann Hedreen, author of the memoir, “Her Beautiful Mind,” discusses surprising ways people can volunteer to benefit Alzheimer’s disease research. Since her mother’s diagnosis with this heartbreaking disease, she has volunteered as a medical research subject, according to Fox News. Hedreen has undergone five spinal taps, an MRI and a PET scan. She participates in yearly memory tests and neurological tests.

Alzheimer’s continues to grow costlier, and the prevalence of this tragic disease only continues to grow.
