Is coconut oil a viable option in treating Alzheimer’s?
The Alzheimer’s Society digs deeper into this hypothesis. “When making treatment decisions, it’s important that we have robust scientific evidence,” says Dr. Clare Walton, “to show that a treatment is both safe to use in a large group of people, and also effective at bringing benefits to patients.” So far, there has been little scientific evidence to support the use of coconut oil.
But Dr. Walton has some good news, too. “The National Institute of Aging In America have recently funded a clinical trial to look at the benefit of coconut oil in people with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s Disease… We look forward to seeing the results.”
