Alzheimer’s Group Jams in the Park
The Memory Arts Café is a cultural events series cofounded by the New York Memory Center (NYMC) and the Alzheimer’s Poetry Project. At one series event, Gary Glazner, the poet in residence at NYMC, led a group of participants (which include people who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and dementia) in a poetry jam session with their new friend, jazz saxophonist “G-Way.” Watch as Gary and the gang get mildly macabre with a few lines from Poe’s famous piece “The Raven.”
